The Vital Records Division provides birth/death certificates and other legal documents.
Birth/Death Certificates:
The Shelby County Health Department documents all births and deaths in Shelby County. Our records start in 1882. A certified copies of a birth certificates and death certificates can be obtained in person at our office or by mail. No personal checks will be accepted - only cash or money order please.
Birth Certificates are $10 for standard size and $15 for standard sized & wallet size.
Death Certificates are $10
Genealogical Research can be provided upon request.
