The Shelby County Health Department (SCHD) was established in 1955 and was a model used for other nations public health programs.   The SCHD was established to promote and enforce public health laws and needs.  The SCHD records births, deaths and legal name changes.  We investigate environmental concerns/complaints and oversee residential/commercial sewage disposal systems in the county.  We provide childhood immunizations and track communicable disease in the county.  The Public Health Coordinator plays a role as planner, coordinator, and educator on health emergency issues for Shelby County.  Choose below for more details of each section.  You mail also send email by clicking here.
